Discovering Bulgaria: Info Session for UAMs
At IOM Bulgaria’s Safe Zones, we not only provide protection and support to unaccompanied migrant children (UAMs) but also help them feel connected to their new environment.
Today, our social workers at the Safe Zone in RRC Sofia - Ovcha Kupel organized an engaging information session introducing UAMs to Bulgarian nature, culture, and traditions.
The session featured:
- Videos showcasing Bulgaria’s breathtaking natural landscapes and historic sites
- An introduction to the upcoming Baba Marta celebration—a cherished Bulgarian tradition symbolizing the arrival of spring and well-being
- Discussions on cultural heritage, sparking curiosity and a desire to explore Bulgaria firsthand
Many of the UAMs expressed interest in visiting cultural and historic landmarks, and IOM Bulgaria is committed to making this happen through future excursions!
The information session was implemented within the framework of the project "Support for Unaccompanied Minors Accommodated in Safe Zones" funded under the National AMIF Programme 2021-2027.
