Drawing Smiles and Building Bonds Through Art
At the Safe Zone in RRC Sofia - Ovcha Kupel, a dedicated IOM cultural mediator recently organised an engaging drawing session for the unaccompanied children accommodated there. This creative activity offered a unique and fun opportunity for the children to connect with one another through art.
The theme of the session encouraged each child to draw a portrait of another as they perceived them—a simple yet meaningful way to spark creativity and foster interpersonal understanding. In the midst of the dark winter months, such indoor activities not only provide entertainment but also inspire imagination and camaraderie.
The young participants embraced the task with enthusiasm, producing colourful and heartfelt portraits. Laughter and excitement filled the room, as the children enjoyed the process of creating and sharing their art.
These activities were implemented within the framework of the project "Provision of support to asylum seekers in Bulgaria" funded under the National AMIF Programme 2021-2027. The Safe Zones are managed within the framework of the project "Support for Unaccompanied Minors Accommodated in Safe Zones" funded under the National AMIF Programme 2021-2027.
