Exploring the Cyrillic Alphabet: Learning Bulgarian at the Safe Zone
IOM Bulgaria's social workers at the Safe Zone in the Registration and Reception Center Sofia - Voenna Rampa recently organized an engaging and educational activity for the newly arrived unaccompanied minors accommodated in the zone.
As part of their integration support, the children were introduced to the Bulgarian language through a fun and interactive session focused on the Cyrillic alphabet. The activity provided them with essential language skills while fostering a sense of curiosity and confidence in their new environment
Learning the basics of Bulgarian is an important step in helping asylum-seeking minors navigate daily life, communicate with others, and feel more at home. The session was both informative and enjoyable, reinforcing the commitment of IOM Bulgaria and its partners to supporting young migrants in their adaptation and growth
Through initiatives like these, the Safe Zone continues to be a place of learning, support, and community for unaccompanied children, ensuring they have access to opportunities that empower them for a brighter future.
This activity was implemented within the framework of the project "Support for Unaccompanied Minors Accommodated in Safe Zones" funded under the National AMIF Programme 2021-2027.
