Fun, Games, and Connection at the Safe Zone in RRC Ovcha Kupel
This week, the Safe Zone for Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Minors (UAMs), managed by IOM Bulgaria at the Registration and Reception Center in Ovcha Kupel, was filled with laughter, creativity, and friendly competition.
A group of enthusiastic volunteers from Caritas Sofia organised a dynamic session for the young residents, offering a variety of engaging activities. From board games and drawing to a mini photography workshop and even an impromptu arm-wrestling tournament, the day was packed with energy and smiles.
IOM staff were also present during the activities, taking time to speak with the volunteers about the function and importance of the Safe Zone, the specific needs of unaccompanied minors, and the broader efforts to support their well-being and development.
We extend our sincere thanks to the Caritas Sofia team for their continued dedication. It’s collaborations like these that help build trust, spark joy, and create safe and supportive spaces for every child.
The Safe Zones are managed within the framework of the project "Support for Unaccompanied Minors Accommodated in Safe Zones" funded by the National Programme of Bulgaria under the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund 2021-2027.
