Health Awareness Session for Unaccompanied Minors
An social worker from IOM Bulgaria's team at the Safe Zone in RRC Sofia - Ovcha Kupel recently conducted an informative workshop for unaccompanied minors, accommodated there, focusing on key medical and healthcare topics.
The session addressed the challenges of the cold season, which typically brings an increase in respiratory viruses. The minors were informed about how these viruses are transmitted and learned essential measures to protect themselves and others.
In addition, the children gained a better understanding of antibiotics, including their proper use and the growing issue of antimicrobial resistance. This initiative was designed to equip the minors with vital health knowledge, fostering a culture of well-being and awareness within the community.
These activities were implemented within the framework of the project "Support for Unaccompanied Minors Accommodated in Safe Zones" funded under the National AMIF Programme 2021-2027.
