Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting since 1951 humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. Across Bulgaria, IOM assists the development of national mechanisms to combat and counteract trafficking in human beings and supports victims of trafficking.

New Bulgarian language courses for legally residing migrants in Burgas
We are pleased to announce that on May 1st, 2025, the first A1-level Bulgarian language courses officially started at the Integration Centre for Migrants in Burgas, located at 43 Stefan Stambolov Blvd, Office 3, Burgas, 8001.
A total of 34 migrants with legal residence status have enrolled and been divided into two groups. Over the next two months, they will take part in structured language training designed to support their integration into Bulgarian society by building basic communication skills.
These courses are implemented within the framework of the project “Bulgarian Language Training for Legally Residing Migrants”, funded by the National Program of Bulgaria under the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund 2021-2027 with the financial support of the European Union.
