The Global Migration Film Festival has started in Bulgaria

Yesterday, 28 November, the Global Migration Film Festival started. In the framework of this global initiative, for the third year in a row, selected migration-related films will be screened in over 90 countries worldwide. In Bulgaria the festival started at the Harmanli Cultural Centre with the screening of the documentary “A walk on the Tightrope” that presents the difficulties faced by asylum seekers as they navigate the complex bureaucratic system in Germany.

In Sofia the GMFF 2018 will start Monday, 3 December, at the Institute Cervantes with the screening of the documentary “The Kitchen of Las Patronas” that tells the incredible story of a group of women who have taken it upon themselves to provide fresh meals to migrants trying to cross the US-Mexican border.

Global Migration Film Festival 2018 is organized in Bulgaria with the financial aid of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund, co-financed by the European Union.
