Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting since 1951 humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. Across Bulgaria, IOM assists the development of national mechanisms to combat and counteract trafficking in human beings and supports victims of trafficking.

First trophy for the Safety Zone in RRC Sofia – Ovcha Kupel.
The unaccompanied asylum-seeking boys from “Syria” football team won a first trophy 🏆for the Safety Zone in the RRC Sofia – Ovcha Kupel and deservedly classified second in the age group 9-12 at the football tournament, organized in the Boyana National Football Base on 1 June – the Child's Day celebration in Bulgaria.
After two undisputed victories in the group stage against the teams of Concordia Foundation and the 136 Primary School, the children from Syria secured a spot on the final.
After a tightly contested first half, they lost in the second half against the extremely well-prepared team of "Ozren" (Golyam Izvor).
The event was organized by Concordia Foundation with a general sponsor – BILLA.
The Safety zones are managed within the framework of the project "“Support for asylum seekers in Bulgaria” funded by the National Program of Bulgaria under the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund 2014-2020.
