Football Tournament for children

IOM Bulgaria recently organized a Football Tournament for minors at the "Bonsist" Sports Complex in Sofia. Among the six competing teams were two comprised of unaccompanied minors from IOM's Safety Zones in Sofia - Voenna Rampa and Ovcha Kupel.

The children approached the event with great enthusiasm, showcasing their skills on the football pitch. We believe in the power of sports for the physical and mental well-being of minors, providing them with a positive outlet for expression and connection.

Food and refreshments were available for all participants, ensuring everyone had what they needed for an enjoyable time. Kudos to the Ovcha Kupel team for securing second place!  Kudos to the Ovcha Kupel team for securing second place!

Beyond rankings, what truly matters is the positive and inspiring experience shared by children facing difficult circumstances far from home. This tournament is a testament to the resilience and joy that sports can bring.

This event was organised in the framework of the project, "Support for unaccompanied minors, seeking international protection," made possible through the generous funding from the Norwegian Financial Mechanism. Together, we're making a difference in the lives of these young individuals.
