Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting since 1951 humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. Across Bulgaria, IOM assists the development of national mechanisms to combat and counteract trafficking in human beings and supports victims of trafficking.

Information sessions in Pastrogor
IOM Bulgaria’s mobile teams visited the Transit Center in Pastrogor where it held a total of 14 information sessions on legal and social issues with а total of 157 participants – all of whom were newly accommodated adult men from Afghanistan. IOM Bulgaria’s translator provided specialized translation in Pashto and Persian. The participants also received essential hygiene kits.
These activities are carried out within the framework of the projects "Support for asylum seekers in Bulgaria" and "Legal Counselling and Interpretation Services to Asylum Seekers in Bulgaria" funded by the National Programme of Bulgaria under the Asylum, Migration, and Integration Fund 2014-2020.
