IOM Bulgaria commenced the implementation of its new project “Emergency Response to People Fleeing the Conflict in Ukraine” funded by the Bureau for Population Refugees and Migration of the US State Department.
Members of the IOM Bulgaria’s team started the distribution of prepaid cards to vulnerable individuals who have fled Ukraine and are now located in Bulgaria.
The Cash based intervention (CBI) scheme follows a process of assessment of the individuals in need based on a range of vulnerability criteria. Priority is given to persons with disabilities, elderly people, households with three or more children, unaccompanied minors, pregnant single women and victims of trafficking or gender-based violence.
