IOM Bulgaria organizes English language courses for unaccompanied children
At the beginning of 2021, the IOM team in RRC Harmanli launched an English course for the unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, relocated from Greece. The course aims to help them integrate better in the host society, allow them to participate in more daily activities and feel less isolated. The students are divided into three groups so that every student can get individual attention and the course is taught by an IOM team fluent in the native languages of the children. The course follows similar courses in basic computer knowledge that the IOM team organized for the children in the previous months and runs parallel with a Bulgarian language course, organized by the SAR.
