IOM Bulgaria Secures Six New Projects under the EU’s Asylum, Migration, and Integration Fund (2021-2027)
IOM Bulgaria is pleased to announce the signing of six new project contracts under the National Program of the EU’s Asylum, Migration, and Integration Fund (AMIF) for the 2021-2027 period. These initiatives mark a significant step forward in our ongoing efforts to support migrants in Bulgaria and address their needs comprehensively.
The newly secured funding will allow IOM Bulgaria to implement critical activities aimed at promoting the well-being, integration, and protection of migrants. Key components of the projects include:
- Providing essential services such as housing, healthcare, psychological, and legal support to vulnerable migrants.
- Facilitating integration efforts through language training, job placement programs, and community engagement, easing the adaptation process for migrants in Bulgaria.
- Enhancing migration management, ensuring safe and orderly migration processes.
The Importance for Bulgaria
As Bulgaria continues to play a pivotal role as an external EU border, these projects will not only benefit the migrant population but also bolster the country's capacity to manage migration effectively. By supporting both security and solidarity, these initiatives will contribute to a more stable and cohesive society, benefiting all members of the community.
Gratitude and Partnerships
IOM Bulgaria expresses its gratitude to the European Union, the Ministry of the Interior, the International Projects Directorate, and AMIF 2021-2027 for their continued support and collaboration. Their partnership is crucial to ensuring that Bulgaria remains a welcoming and resilient destination for those seeking a better future.
We look forward to continuing our work with national authorities and local communities to drive lasting positive change for both migrants and the broader Bulgarian society.
