Our Work
Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting since 1951 humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. Across Bulgaria, IOM assists the development of national mechanisms to combat and counteract trafficking in human beings and supports victims of trafficking.

IOM celebrates the 24th of May with a cultural and educational session
On May 24th, Day of the holy brothers Cyril and Methodius, of the Bulgarian alphabet, education, and culture and of Slavic literature, the IOM team in the Safety zone in RRC Sofia, Voenna Rampa, organized a cultural and educational session during which the unaccompanied asylum-seeking boys learned about the Bulgarian alphabet and its history and dissemination across the world. During the session, films about the legacy of saints Cyril and Methodius were screened, accompanied by a discussion on the importance of education in the development of any society.
