Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting since 1951 humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. Across Bulgaria, IOM assists the development of national mechanisms to combat and counteract trafficking in human beings and supports victims of trafficking.

IOM presented the team and activities of a new project
Sofia - On June 22nd, in the beautiful “University Botanical Garden - Sofia”, was held the opening event of project “Awareness raising of local communities in areas with significant share of Roma population on asylum and migration issues”, funded by the Norway Financial Mechanism 2014 – 2021 and implemented by International Organization for Migration.
Mr Radoslav Stamenkov presented the team and the planned activities for the project, and explained the necessity of detailed work on the matter. Prof. Ivaylo Tarneb and Mr Ognyan Kamenov presented Consortium “BFPA-NNHM-EMHPF”, which is a partner in the implementation of activities on the ground in the Roma community. The health mediators from the municipalities in which activities of the project are being executed, also presented the specifics of their work and some curious cases of their practice.
Moderator of the event was Dr. Radosveta Stamenkova. Full translation in English was provided for the foreign guests and colleagues.
The project is financed by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021.
