Release of the latest Children on the Move factsheet
The latest fact sheet Europe — Refugee and Migrant Children in Europe - Overview of Trends (January — December 2021) has been released.
This is the 12th joint product of IOM, UNHCR and UNICEF on Children on the Move through the Mediterranean, Western African Atlantic and Western Balkan routes to Europe. It compiles child-related data based on available official sources: arrival, asylum applications, asylum decisions, profiling of arrivals, relocation from Greece and Italy under the EU relocation scheme, as well as returns from Greece to Türkiye under the EU-Türkiye statement. Together with official statistics – that we cross-check with Country Offices involved – the factsheet also includes summary findings on profiles of adolescents and young adults surveyed by DTM in Spain and Bosnia and Herzegovina last year.
The present factsheet covers the period January to December 2021, with comprehensive information on refugee and migrant children, including unaccompanied and separated children.
