Round table on the topic “Social services and support for children asylum seekers or beneficiaries of international protection in Bulgaria”
At the beginning of the week, IOM Bulgaria together with UNHCR and UNICEF organized a round table in the city of Plovdiv. Mr. Radoslav Stamenkov, IOM Bulgaria's Head of Office, opened the event. The topic, presentations, and discussions were skillfully moderated by Dr. Rossanka Venelinova from Foundation “Nadja Center”. The event focused on presentations and discussions with up-to-date data on social support services for children asylum seekers or beneficiaries of international protection and their families, the legal framework, and the implementation of policies at the local level.
The participants in the round table consisted of representatives of the state administration, local authorities, as well as various international and non-governmental organizations from all over the country.
The event took place within the framework of the project "Raising the awareness of Bulgarian society and migrant communities in Bulgaria", funded by the National Programme of Bulgaria under the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund 2014-2020.
