Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting since 1951 humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. Across Bulgaria, IOM assists the development of national mechanisms to combat and counteract trafficking in human beings and supports victims of trafficking.

Seminar on “Initial adaptation and integration of Third Country Nationals in Bulgaria”
IOM Bulgaria organized a seminar on “Initial adaptation and integration of Third Country Nationals in Bulgaria” in Ravda, Nessebar Municipality. This second such seminar, initiated within the framework of the project "Raising the awareness of Bulgarian society and migrant communities in Bulgaria" touched upon topics such as challenges faced by foreigners in the social security; health rights of foreigners in Bulgaria; tax obligations for foreigners; rules for coexistence and dispute resolution; complaints; compensation and other. A total of 8 lecturers participated in the seminar - representatives of various institutions - NSSI-Burgas, RHI - Burgas, ACCFW - Spravedlivost, The National Association of General Practitioners in Bulgaria.
More than 50 TCNs actively participated in the seminar and shared not only common challenges that foreigners who have decided to remain for a longer period face but also personal stories that captivated the attendees and the lecturers.
IOM Bulgaria would like to express its gratitude to all participants and speakers from these institutions for their active participation in the seminar and during its preparation.
The event was realized within the framework of the project "Raising the awareness of Bulgarian society and migrant communities in Bulgaria", funded by the National Programme of Bulgaria under the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund 2014-2020.
