Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting since 1951 humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. Across Bulgaria, IOM assists the development of national mechanisms to combat and counteract trafficking in human beings and supports victims of trafficking.

Welcoming the ambassador of the United States to Bulgaria at IOM Bulgaria's office in Varna
The IOM Bulgaria representatives in Varna had the pleasure of welcoming the ambassador of the United States to Bulgaria - Kenneth Merten in the IOM office at the Ukrainian cultural center in Varna - Украински Дом Варна - Українська діаспора Болгарії "Український Дім".
Ambassador Merten showed interest in IOM Bulgaria’s work and got acquainted with our Ukraine Response activities in Varna and the country. Ambassador Merten also commended all people working and the Ukrainan center and the IOM staff for their hard work in support of the people fleeing the war in Ukraine.
IOM Bulgaria in turn would like to express gratitude for the vital support provided by the United States in assisting people displaced by the war in Ukraine.
