Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting since 1951 humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. Across Bulgaria, IOM assists the development of national mechanisms to combat and counteract trafficking in human beings and supports victims of trafficking.

IOM Bulgaria hosts Information Sessions for war refugees from Ukraine
IOM Bulgaria is conducting a series of informative sessions aimed at individuals affected by the war in Ukraine and currently residing in Bulgaria. The sessions cover essential topics related to social adaptation, integration, and support available for these individuals.
1. Plovdiv Session (13.01.2024):
- Location: Second Home, bul. "Tsarigradsko shose" 106, Plovdiv
- Time: 13:00 – 17:00
- Topics: Employment rights, social and health insurance, access to education, labor qualification, and IOM's integration activities.
2. Sunny Beach Session (16.01.2024):
- Location: Council of Ministers Holiday Base, Sunny Beach Resort
- Time: 11:00
- Topics: Employment rights, social and health insurance, access to education, labor qualification, and bilateral agreements between Bulgaria and Ukraine.
3. Burgas Session (16.01.2024):
- Location: Regional Social Support Center, Zornitsa, Burgas
- Time: 15:00
- Topics: Similar to the previous sessions, focusing on essential aspects of social adaptation and integration.
4. Sofia Session (18.01.2024):
- Location: SOHO Hall, 4 Iskar Street (near Serdika Metro Station), Sofia
- Time: 17:00 – 19:00
- Topics: Covering labor rights, social and health insurance, access to education, and bilateral agreements.
These sessions provide a valuable opportunity for individuals affected by the Ukrainian war to learn about their rights, available support, and the integration initiatives facilitated by IOM Bulgaria. Participants are encouraged to actively engage, ask questions, and gain insights into the resources available to them.
IOM Bulgaria remains committed to supporting the social well-being and successful integration of those impacted by the conflict, fostering a sense of community and connection in their new home.
