A little taste of home
On the request of the unaccompanied asylum-seeking children relocated from Greece and accommodated in RRC Harmanli, a cooking workshop was organized as an initiative of IOM’s mobile teams. The unaccompanied children wanted to cook one of their favorite national dishes, Kabuli Pulao. This is a Afghani pilaf that we prepared together with fresh lamb, raisins, some vegetables ..., and at the end, as a final touch, garnished the rice with almonds. Of course, we also used the typical spices for this cuisine, such as turmeric, cumin, cardamom, etc.
