Yoga for the mind and the body

IOM Bulgaria launched yoga classes, with two professional instructors, for the unaccompanied asylum-seeking children accommodated in the Safety Zone in RRC Sofia – Voenna Rampa. The children learned what is yoga and the benefits that regular practice have on building physical strength, as well as on improving concentration and reducing stress. During the first class, the children practiced a few basic postures and focused on how to balance the body and concentrate their thoughts on the exercise.

The yoga classes are a part of group psychosocial activities organized by IOM Bulgaria within the framework of the project “Protection of vulnerable migrants and assisted voluntary return and reintegration support” funded under the Emergency measures of the EU’s Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund.
